Mastiff - Large - Young - Female - Dog - LEXXUS IN NORTH CA
Description
Lexxus is a very small mastiff, only around 75 pounds, but she has the heart and soul of a normal, sized giant dog. If you have want the look and temperament of a Mastiff, without the gigantic size Lexxus may be the dog for you! While physically she isnt the most impressive foster weve had, she is a beautiful, small girl. She is very, very gentle, super obedient, she has excellent house manners, and she is a settled dog, who loves a romp in the pasture, but also enjoys just sleeping on the couch beside her people while you watch TV. She is good with children even as young as 2 years old, men and women. She does have a strong prey drive and will chase other animals if they run from her. She should be strictly supervised with a cat and will take some time to be introduced to a family's existing dogs- but warms up fine after she is given time and space initially to get acquainted properly. She has interacted very well with a smaller, equally gentle dog, but she has some scars from an old fight and if a dog moves toward her aggressively she will respond likewise. Being small, she doesnt drool as much as a more standard Mastiff. While on a walk, she throws herself on the ground and rolls on her back just squirming with the joy of being aliveIve even seen her roll off a small earthen damn, wiggling and wagging during the five-foot slide to the ground. Lexxus has been successfully treated for heartworms and appears to be about 3 years old. Currently she is very healthy, loves to run loose in our pasture and comes when shes called in a way to make an obedience trainer proud. She is very attuned to the people in her life, just a short click will make her turn away from something you dont want her to sniff.
