Pug - Medium - Baby - Male - Dog - SOS- HELP- Wally
Description
*********ATTENTION********** WALLY'S DAYS ARE NUMBERED. HE NEEDS A HERO TO STEP UP NOW. It pains us to say this but if we can not locate a suitable home (either foster or adopt) for Wally soon we will be forced to make the tough decision to euthanizehim. This is not a decision we make lightly or easily but too many people have already let Wally down and we will not stuff him in a crate at a vet for weeks on end just so we can say we are keeping him alive. That is not a life. On top of Wally's disability which limits his chances of being adopted, we recently found out he needs to be an "ONLY" dog. Wally has become very dominant over the other dogs in this present foster home. The foster mom had been trying to work with him but she recently told us he has injured 3 of the pugs in the home. We do not have a foster home with no other dogs that we can move him to. Wally needs a special "only dog" home to step up and save him. We are struggling to find a haven for Wally. We even reached out to Sharpei Rescue but they have declined to help. If you are unable to take Wally into your home as a long term foster or adoptive pet but want to help, please make a donatation to help with the boarding fees Rescue will be incurring while we try to find placement for Wally. If you know of a friend, family member or aquaintence that has a kenneling/boarding facility please ask if they would consider taking Wally in as a long term resident at no cost to Rescue- we are a 501 non-profit which means it would be tax deductable. Wally needs your help to live. Any ideas you have to help Wally are appreciated. Please email Vice President, Jennifer DeVinny at pugsitterjen@gmail.com with any ideas you may have to help Wally. Any and every idea is welcome. . Wally is a 1 yr old Pug - Sharpei mix, commonly called an Oripei. He is young and adorable. Unfortunately, a family who lived in their car let him out in a parking lot to run and he got hit by another car. They abandoned him at a vet clinic as they could not pay for his care. The vet diagnosed him as having a severed spine. With no home or anyone to assist his recovery, the clinic was going to put him to sleep. However, one woman who worked at the clinic was so moved by Wall - E's will to live, his friendly personality, and his cute looks, that she opted to take him. She got him to his current foster homesaving Wallys life. He is cart trained and is currently using a donated cart (wheelie). We are looking into having a custom prosthetic cart made for him to facilitate greater ease in his movements. Wally needs to be in a home where he is either the only pet. He likes his human. While he requires a little more work than an average pet, he does as much for himself as he can. He needs to continue his potty training schedule. His current walking schedule is for three walks a day, but he loves more if he can get them. He is an ideal home companion, however, and always wants to be with his family and at the center of the action. He is affectionate and gives kisses almost constantly. He is a positive boy who responds well; he really wants to please. He has a loving heart -- he just doesn't have a whole body. Help us in finding him the special home he deserves! If you love Wally but you can't adopt him, please consider making a donation to help Wally and his pug rescue friends. My adoption fee is Waived to Right Home - Donations are always appreciated which will helps to reimburse OPRA for some of my medical expenses. If you love me but cant adopt me, please send a donation to help my OPRA friends pay for my medical expenses. They sure could use it. My friends at OPRA are all Volunteers and they are working very hard to find me a good home. So, please do not call them about me until you have submitted an application.** VISIT WWW.ORLANDOPUGRESCUE.NET for more information about donating and adoption applications **
